POSITION TITLE: CPT (Child Protection Team) Case Coordinator

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Under Direction of the Executive Director and the CPT Program Director (Child Protection Team Coordinator), the CPT Case Coordinator is responsible for services and standards as outlined in the Child Protection Team Procedure Handbook. The CPT Case Coordinator is available for on-call rotation 24 hours per day, seven days per week for emergency joint response.

REPORTS TO: CPT Team Coordinator

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $35,000 - $39,000 (relevant to experience)

POSITION TYPE : Exempt with full benefits

REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or another behavioral science. At least two years of post-bachelor experience working with children and their families with one year of that experience involving work with abused and neglected children. Excellent organization and communication skills. Ability to work with other professionals and non-professionals. Highly sensitive to the needs and welfare of children. Self-motivated and able to work independently when required. Available to work flexible hours to meet needs of clients.

 Other Quality Ranking Factors:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with children and adolescents, ranging in age from infants to 17 years of age. Relative experience in Interviewing children
  • Academic training or practical experience in and knowledge of developmental stages of children and the dynamics and effects of child abuse.
  • Disposition toward multi-disciplinary team approach to the investigation and prosecution of child abuse cases.
  • Understanding of Non-Profit Organization Dynamics.
  • Knowledge and Use of appropriate Professional Ethics and Standards.

Duties include, but are not limited to: Interview children, family members, and significant others as needed to obtain medical and social information; Complete assessments and send reports to the protective investigator within the time frames consistent with program requirements and best practice; assist in coordination of client services and referral to community agencies as needed; arrange for and facilitate team staffings and participate in the development of the recommendations; provide depositions and court testimony; maintain client records. Conduct training in the community for professional staff and others, as d esignated by the Team Coordinator in cooperation with the Director of Training; assist in the coordination of medical exams as needed; participate in scheduled after hours on call; successful completion of continuing education standards that include a minimum of eight hours of training per year in child abuse, abandonment, and neglect; attend and participate in relevant Kids House staff meetings; attend and participate in relevant Kids House trainings; participate in multi-disciplinary staffings, in-service trainings, evaluation activities, and any other forum that affects the child/family.
