Volunteer Opportunities

"It's a crime when children are abused;
it's a shame when we don't do more to help them."

We are always looking for friendly, energetic and motivated volunteers who are interested in helping with our Children's Advocacy Center. There are many opportunities to suit different skills and abilities:

Office Assistants: Administrative helpers are always needed around Kids House. Data entry, filing, and special projects are the focus of this volunteer assignment.

Receptionist: Serve as advocacy receptionist at the front desk. Handle answering the phones, client check-in and supervision and comfort of children in the playroom. Reception volunteers should be excellent with children and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.

Fundraising Committee Volunteers: Interested in helping Kids House raise money for our children? Throughout the year Kids House hosts several fundraising events and the support of community volunteers is invaluable to these efforts. If you are interested in helping plan events such as golf tournaments, galas, 5K runs, etc. please let us know.

Speaker’s Bureau: Represent Kids House in the community at various events and speaking opportunities. Volunteers for the speaker’s bureau should be outgoing, professional and most importantly have a passion for the work done at Kids House and eager to spread the message of helping stop child abuse.

Community Event Volunteers: Kids House participates in various events throughout the year throughout the community. We often need volunteers to help represent Kids House, pass out information, and interact with children and families.

Kids House Event Volunteers: Throughout the year, Kids House hosts events for the children and families we serve. Events are seasonal and include a Halloween Party, Ice Cream Social, Back to School Splash, Holiday Party, and Easter Egg Hunt. Volunteers are needed to help make these events extra special and lots of fun for every child who attends.

Volunteers for the Training & Events Program: Volunteers interested in helping out our training and events program will aid in presenting community workshops. Volunteers should have excellent presentation and communication skills. Training is provided by the Director of Training & Events in regards to knowledge of child abuse and the child protection system.

Maintenance Volunteers: It takes a lot of work to keep our facility in good shape. We are always looking for handymen and women interested in coming by to lend a hand. Handyman projects like changing light bulbs, painting, landscaping etc. are always on our to-do list.

Clothing Drives for ClubHouse: Our Kids ClubHouse was built in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Seminole County. New clothing is always needed to stock our shelves with necessities for the kids. Clothes, shoes, socks, underwear, and hygiene products are needed for children 0-18 years old.

Please complete the Volunteer Application and Email, Fax (407-324-3045) or Mail it to the attention of Christen Moffitt: Moffitt@kidshouse.org.
