For more than a decade, Kids House has been a safe and caring place where child victims of abuse can find compassionate care and healing. In our last fiscal year, Kids House helped heal 2,256 children.

Our Mission

Our mission is to prevent child abuse and to aid child abuse victims and families by providing coordinated services in a safe, child-friendly environment from report and investigation through treatment and resolution.

Our Work

In collaboration with all agencies of law enforcement, the state attorney's office, medical personnel, child protection professionals, social workers, and licensed mental health counselors, we are working to break the cycle of violence so often seen with incidents of child abuse and neglect.

Kids House's team approach in dealing with child abuse allows for all involved agencies and victims to come together at one single facility, working together on a complete investigation. This includes case history, sharing information and ideas, carrying through to assist with prosecution and then determining the best course to provide emotional and psychological well-being for the child and family.

Further trauma and distress is tremendously reduced for the child using this unique approach. Agencies are all present and able to work together effectively and efficiently at a single-site location which ultimately reduces the need for a child to repeat their story over and over again.

Our Children's Advocacy Center

Our facility, named in honor of the Wayne M. Densch Charitable Trust, Inc. is a warm, friendly environment where the needs of children come first. As soon as they walk in the door, children are invited to explore the playroom, located right in the lobby. There is also an outdoor playground and toys for all ages. Books, movies, and crafts are accessible and encouraged in an effort to make the children feel as comfortable as possible through their ordeal. The interview rooms are decorated with lively murals to be inviting and kid-friendly, while being equipped with advanced video and audio recording devices to gather the best possible evidence for use at trial. Even the medical exam rooms are decorated with cheerful themes to calm and delight children of all ages. View photos of our facility.
