- Crisis intervention for children and families
- Joint Response with law enforcement, the protective investigator, and Child Protection Team Case Coordinator to area hospitals to provide crisis intervention and referral services to the victim and family
- 24/7 on call service in response to acute and after hours cases
- Case Management and support counseling
- Victim of Crime Compensation Assistance
- Referrals to community resources including: food, clothing, medical, parenting, mental health counseling and evaluation, substance abuse programs, and financial assistance
- Maintenance of written agreements, protocols, and guidelines signed by authorized representatives of all team components to ensure the continuation of the collaboration
- Multidisciplinary staffings of critical cases
- MDT Case Reviews of all cases
- Parent support groups as requested
- Providing psychotherapeutic and supportive services to children and families who have been exposed to the trauma of abuse and/or neglect
- Specialized therapy for victim’s of physical, sexual or psychological abuse, neglect and/or exposure to domestic violence
- Individual (ages 3-18), Group, and Family Therapy
- Community Coordination of the Seminole County Mental Health Providers Network
- Forensic medical examinations and testing in all cases where diagnosis and/or assessment of injury or harm is needed
- Forensic and specialized interview services
- Psycho-social Assessments as requested
- Appropriate documentation and court testimony
- Full MDT Staffings requested by any agency investigating an abuse or neglect case
- Counsel to law enforcement as to what action is to be taken, what services are to be coordinated or offered and what assistance will be provided by CPT
- Notification and coordination of services including exams, interviews and staffings with other members of the MDT
- Document in a final report findings and recommendations from a forensic interview and/or medical exam
- All medical services are rendered by medical professionals with training and experience in the recognition of child abuse, providing 24/7 response.
- Forensic physical examination for any child who has been the victim of physical abuse or neglect
- Forensic sexual assault examination for all children who are the victims of sexual abuse, including all diagnostic testing, follow-up and rendering of any necessary medical treatment
- Quality complete medical assessments for our area foster care children
- Medically based training for area hospital emergency departments, urgent care facilities, pediatric and family practice offices, and emergency medical services personnel on the recognition and reporting of child maltreatment
- Expert witness deposition and court testimony
- Nurturing Parenting Training for parents of school age children
- Professional Tools Training Sessions for all Child Welfare personnel including: Law Enforcement, Medical Providers, Mental Health Providers, School Personnel, and Social Workers
- Community education by request
- Educational Program for UCF Interns
- Data tracking with input from MDT members and Child Advocates, tracking information on Child Abuse cases
- Special Events for Child Abuse Victims including Back to School and Holiday Assistance
- Opportunities for Volunteerism and Fundraising Events through our Development and Volunteer Program
- Collaborative Child Abuse Prevention Program including: Kids House of Seminole, Community Based Care of Seminole, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office and Children's Home Society, that supports families who are "at-risk" of becoming involved with the formal child welfare system due to varying factors
- Focus on the family's strengths, experience, knowledge and resources to help provide for the safety and well-being of the family
- Involve family members, other relatives, friends, community members and professional supports to a team meeting, Family Team Conferencing, to address the individual needs of the family
- Develop a Family Care Plan and resources for on-going support
